Diaspora, Expat Ladies of Colour: What do you want? When do you want it?

"Women are leaders everywhere that you look.
They take the risks in order to move forward.
From the singleton to the housewife who manages her family and home.
From the academic to the ‘University of Life’ participants.
From the self employed to the salaried.
Nations were built by strong women, powerful women of mind, body and spirit.
We, as diaspora ladies, will continue to break down walls and defy stereotypes."
Charlotte Cepal

What do you want? When do you want it?.

Have you ever said this chant:

What do we want?

(Your answer?)

When do we want it?

(Your answer?….although the word “NOW!” is the usual response.)

So my question to you is WHAT do you want? What do you want in your professional life? What do you want in your personal life? What do you want that would make you happy in business and this happiness would be reflected or reciprocal across all other areas of your life? Making you a more richer, satisfied, happier person to be around. I use the word richer and it is up to you as to how you define the word ‘richer’ for yourself. Some people want to be richer in happiness. Some people want to be richer in love. Some people want to be richer in health. Most people strive to be richer in money and possessions. Which are you? ALL? Or possibly only ONE.

Whatever you want you can be sure that you cannot do it alone. That you need help from others. Trusted others. Others that connect with you in confidence. Others that connect with you in understanding what it is that you want. Others that connect with you and in some respects have experienced a similar journey to your own. Sometimes a kindred spirit shows up at a time that we need them to, the most. Such as coming across an investment manager whom you feel an instant or strong connection to. Or perhaps coming across the perfect transportation with the perfect driver / captain to take you from A to B.

Sometimes you come across things by ‘accident’ when your eyes glance over a situation, website, magazine, newspaper, television programme or billboard. Your consciousness and subconsciousness connects with it. It feels right to you. You hold this result or solution in your mind. You jot it down. You add it to your mobile telephone. If the feeling is very strong you initiate instant contact from the displayed contact details. You do not want to wait a moment longer in accessing the information that you seek through this one avenue of possibility. An avenue of possibility that has the potential to open opportunities for you. To enable a particular set of circumstances and make your life richer for the connection.

When you are out of your depth are you willing to take a risk in order to attain what you want and when you want it? This is the ultimate question. So, as that IS the question, what is the answer? How out of your depth are you willing to try something; from your viewpoint at this exact moment in time, that is strange, or new, or innovative, or different or just plain weird?

Do you remember when you first heard about digital currencies? The weird names of the currencies. The weird concepts of the currencies. The weird ways to attain the currencies? How weird was that years ago? How weird is that now?

Just between yourself and I, at what level of ‘strangeness’ would you put yourself through in order to achieve what you want?

So, what do you want AND when do you want it?
